Personal Liberation - Seven Things You Can Do Today

7 Simple Practices to Liberate Your Self Today
  • In one encounter, where you're sure you're right, let someone else have the last word.
  • Go through one agitating life-situation without saying, or doing, anything to try and change it.
  • Make one wish for something or someone besides yourself.
  • Face one fear until you see it fade away.
  • Notice and then refuse one urge to spread any form of gossip or gloom.
  • Catch and swallow one complaint without letting others know you're struggling to keep something down.
  • Consciously surrender one sad, hostile, anxious, or defeated feeling.

And I would like to add a personal favorite as the eighth thing you can do all day long today

  • Be aware and take note of where you are feeling joyous about anything, every time you experience it. If you are not feeling joyous, see if you can go in and find the joy in a situation, person or thing that you encounter today. Write them down for today and review this list later tonight.
